Chairman, Convention Central Co-ordination Committee of 2026 APC Convention – Rt. Hon. Aminu Masari alongside Yobe State Governor Mala Buni and former Speaker House of Rep., Yakubu Dogara have presented Certificates of Return to APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yiltwada and other NWC members.
Presenting the Certificates at the APC National Headquarters in Abuja, Hon. Masari said, ‘The number of people who presented a request for us to issue certificates on that very day made it necessary to choose a more convenient date, which is today—the presentation of certificates to our newly elected National Working Committee under the leadership of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda. I thank you very much’.
‘I wish the National Working Committee God’s guidance as we face the task ahead, because we have one Working Committee that has just emerged, and we are immediately confronted with primaries, from the local government level up to the national level’.
Masari also encouraged the newly elected NWC members to firm up in order to face challenges ahead.
‘Normally, parties, especially the National Working Committee, will be under intense pressure during primaries. I hope we will be able to resist temptation and do what is right for the benefit of our party and our country.
I wish you God’s guidance’, he said.
On his part, APC National chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda commended the Convention planning for the smooth conduct of election that brought them to office.
‘I also congratulate the Convention Planning Committee for an excellent, elegant, well-organised, transparent, and one of the most beautiful conventions ever held in Nigeria. You have raised the bar beyond our imagination. I want to thank you for bringing your experience and selecting some of the best hands for the party’.
Prof. Yilwatda further described the convention as one in history that was without litany of litigations in courts.
He said, ‘Your Excellencies, this convention will go down in history as one without a single litigation. It was almost as if we were at a carnival rather than a convention. The internal wrangling that used to trail conventions was completely absent’.
‘For the new National Working Committee which has held its first meeting, we are committed to the party. The assurance I give you is that we will deepen democracy. We will uphold democracy within the party and ensure stability’.
‘We will continue to expand the party—keep reaching out, keep engaging, keep mobilising—to increase membership across the country’.
‘We must ensure that our party remains strong and focused. We must present clear policies, clear candidates, and a clear direction for Nigeria’.
‘Our responsibility is to strengthen democracy and build confidence in the political process. We will continue to work hard to ensure that our party remains the platform of choice for Nigerians’.
‘We assure you that this party will work towards credible elections and stronger democratic institutions’.
‘Our duty is to ensure that we deliver results at all levels—governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives and Houses of Assembly. We will put in all our energy and effort to ensure success for our candidates’.
‘We will also maintain strong working relationships between the party, the states, and the federal level, ensuring coordination and unity of purpose. We pledge loyalty to the party, loyalty to Nigeria, and commitment to responsible leadership’.
