ABUJA – The Executive Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Hon. Comr. Kasim Mohammed, has postponed the planned celebration of his administration’s first 100 days in office.
The postponement was contained in a statement signed by the council’s Chief Press Secretary, Yakubu Mustapha, dated September 21, 2026.
The chairman said the decision was informed by his administration’s desire to prioritise tangible development and quality projects over ceremonies marking the number of days spent in office.
Mohammed maintained that residents of the area council deserved to see concrete results of governance, stressing that his administration would focus on delivering projects capable of making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people.
He also pledged that every naira spent on projects across the council would be properly accounted for, emphasising transparency and accountability in the management of public resources.
According to him, the administration remains committed to the principles of transparency, accountability, equity and fairness, with the welfare and development of Gwagwalada residents at the centre of its policies.
The chairman reiterated that his administration would continue to prioritise projects and programmes that directly benefit the people rather than spending public resources on ceremonies.
