ABUJA – The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Federal Capital Territory Council, has mourned the death of its former chairman, Patrick Osadebamwen.
The council confirmed his death in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by its Secretary, Jide Oyekunle, saying the news was received with sadness after it was confirmed by the deceased’s friends.
Osadebamwen, a veteran journalist, worked with the Union Newspaper, Core TV and The Nigerian Tribune before joining Kaftan TV. He also served as chairman of the NUJ FCT Council.
The deceased is survived by three children.
The council, while condoling with his family, colleagues, friends and associates, prayed to God to grant them the strength to cope with the loss.
It also urged members of the union to remember the family in their prayers and pray for the repose of Osadebamwen’s soul as arrangements for his burial are being made.
