ABUJA – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arraigned luxury goods dealer and social media personality, Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, alongside two alleged accomplices, over the attempted export of 184.5kg of cocaine to the United Kingdom.

Afolabi was arraigned on Friday before the Federal High Court in Lagos on a 22-count charge bordering on cocaine trafficking, unlawful export of narcotic drugs and money laundering.

His co-defendants are Boniface Freeman Ochoche Sule and Ikechukwu Ekugo Patriarch.

The three defendants were accused of conspiring between July 28 and August 1, 2026, to export the cocaine concealed in five consignments through a Lagos-based courier company to London.

They pleaded not guilty to all 22 counts.

The prosecution alleged that the trio conspired with Atandare Oladipupo Oluwarotimi and Latifat Yusuf, who were reportedly arrested in London in connection with the same drug shipment.

According to the charge marked FHC/LAG/CR/755/2026, the consignments were shipped under the name Yemi Ejide and bore five Airway Bill numbers.

The prosecution further alleged that Boniface recruited Ikechukwu to facilitate the shipment, while Afolabi allegedly enlisted a staff member of BOT Express Logistics on Lagos Island to process the consignment.

Afolabi was also accused of unlawfully possessing the cocaine before its intended export.

The charge sheet alleged that N13.2m was transferred from a Mallamawa Ventures account with Zenith Bank to BOT Express Logistics as payment for the shipment.

Sixteen of the counts relate to alleged money laundering offences.

The NDLEA alleged that Afolabi moved billions of naira through several companies and personal accounts, including Mallamawa Ventures, Fateey Man Multi-Purpose Nigeria Limited, Patonifa Limited, Ade-Lak Resources, Holmestas Global Services Limited and La Capital Enterprises.

The prosecution further alleged that proceeds from the illicit trade were used to acquire vehicles and landed properties in an attempt to conceal their source.

Afolabi was also accused of failing to declare his assets to the agency as required by law.

Following the defendants’ pleas, NDLEA prosecutor, Abu Ibrahim, opposed their bail applications and urged the court to remand them pending trial, citing the seriousness of the alleged offences.

The court subsequently ordered that the defendants be remanded in custody and adjourned the case until October 4, 2026, for ruling on the bail application.

Afolabi, who is also known as KayCee Luxury, KayCee Lux, KC, Mr Luxury and Yemi Ejide, was arrested by NDLEA operatives on August 13, 2026, while allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria on a business-class flight to Paris through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

His arrest followed the interception of the 184.5kg cocaine shipment, which the agency valued at about N39bn.

A subsequent search of the suspect and his Banana Island apartment allegedly led to the recovery of exotic vehicles, foreign currencies and jewellery suspected to be proceeds of illicit drug activities.

The NDLEA said the investigation into the case is ongoing.
