ABUJA – The Coalition of APC Support Groups National Coordinators has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening coordination among its members and deepening grassroots participation in national development initiatives.
The commitment was made during a strategic meeting of the coalition convened by its National Convener, Comrade Richard M. Onyebuwa, in Abuja.
Addressing participants, Onyebuwa said the coalition was established to provide a common platform for APC support groups to coordinate their activities, define responsibilities and ensure that their contributions are properly organised and recognised within the political structure.
He said the coalition would develop a functional organisational structure and implement programmes designed to harness the experience and capacity of its members for grassroots engagement.
Onyebuwa stressed the importance of unity, continuity and commitment, noting that the coalition was being developed as a sustainable organisation rather than a temporary platform.
He added that the coalition would support initiatives and programmes consistent with the broader national development direction of the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, while creating a framework for meaningful grassroots participation.
The Co-Convener and National Directors, including the National Women Leaders, expressed support for the initiative and pledged to contribute their experience and expertise towards strengthening the coalition.
The meeting also focused on the need for a clear organisational structure, effective coordination, media and public relations, grassroots engagement and programmes through which the coalition could demonstrate its capacity and contributions.
Speaking on the outcome of the meeting, the National Director, Media and Publicity, Sophia Ovuike, said the discussions had reinforced the determination of the coalition’s leadership to build a strong, coordinated and sustainable platform for APC support groups across the country.
Ovuike said, “The meeting reaffirmed our collective commitment to unity, continuity and effective coordination. Our objective is to build a platform where support groups can work together, contribute meaningfully at the grassroots and have their efforts properly organised and recognised.”
She further said the coalition’s leadership would prioritise effective communication, grassroots engagement and programmes capable of translating the energy and commitment of support groups into constructive contributions to national development.
According to Ovuike, the coalition would continue to work with its National Convener, Co-Convener, National Directors, National Women Leaders and National Coordinators to establish structures that would promote collective responsibility and sustained participation.
She added that the coalition remained committed to building an organisation that would endure beyond individual meetings or programmes, stressing that “continuity, unity and collective responsibility will remain central to the development of the coalition.”
The meeting ended with the leadership and members reaffirming their commitment to working collectively towards the objectives of the Coalition of APC Support Groups National Coordinators.
