ABUJA – The All Progressives Congress has celebrated the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, on his 60th birthday, describing him as a pillar of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration and an advocate of national development.
The party, in a statement issued on Wednesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said Shettima’s 60 years had been marked by “selfless service, profound intellect and unyielding commitment” to Nigeria’s progress and stability.
The APC recalled Shettima’s tenure as Governor of Borno State, noting that he governed the state during one of its most challenging periods and demonstrated courage, resilience and compassion in tackling the difficulties confronting the people.
The party said his administration prioritised infrastructure, education and human capital development, which it said contributed to the recovery and rebuilding efforts in the North-East.
It also commended Shettima’s contributions as Senator representing Borno Central, saying his legislative activities reflected his commitment to socio-economic development and national unity.
According to the statement, Shettima has continued to demonstrate loyalty and strategic economic leadership since becoming Vice President, particularly through his role in implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.
The ruling party further praised his leadership of the National Economic Council, saying his involvement in key economic initiatives was helping to drive sustainable development, industrial growth and prosperity.
The APC described Shettima as an “invaluable pillar” of the Federal Government and praised his intellectual depth, humility and ability to build bridges across political and social divides.
The party’s National Working Committee, leaders, stakeholders and members prayed for good health, wisdom and strength for the Vice President as he continues to serve the country.
