Dr. Dayo Israel, APC National Youth Leader, Hosts Renewed Hope Conversations as Ministers, Agency Heads, and Over 1,000 University of Abuja Students Engage in Dialogue
The APC National Youth Leader, Dr. Dayo Israel, hosted the first edition of Renewed Hope Conversations at the University of Abuja, bringing together Ministers, agency heads, and over 1,000 students for a direct, open, and interactive engagement with policymakers.
According to a statement signed by his Media department Dr. Israel maintained that, “The initiative was designed as a youth-focused governance dialogue platform aimed at strengthening communication between young people and government institutions, while providing students with the opportunity to engage directly on national policies, governance priorities, and youth development programmes under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The session featured open engagement where students asked questions, raised concerns, and contributed perspectives on key national issues including education reform, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship support, digital skills development, national development priorities, and youth inclusion in governance.
Also, top government officials in attendance included the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa; the Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa.
Others include: the Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmadu; and the Special Adviser to the President on Economic Affairs, Tope Fasua.
Also present were heads of key national institutions, including the Managing Director of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr; the Managing Director of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), Uzoma Nwagba; the Director-General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), Dr. Temitope Ilori; the Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye; and the Director-General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi.
The statement added that “These institutional leaders engaged directly with students, responding to questions, clarifying ongoing government programmes, and outlining policy interventions aimed at improving opportunities for young Nigerians across education, health, technology, and economic development sectors:.
The statement noted said Students actively participated throughout the session, describing the engagement as impactful, refreshing, and unprecedented.
Many noted that it was their first time experiencing such direct access to high-level policymakers in an open and responsive setting.
They also expressed appreciation to Dr. Dayo Israel for creating a platform that amplifies youth voices and strengthens inclusion in governance processes.
To further encourage participation, students were rewarded with educational and support items including laptops, mobile phones, power banks, and other tools to enhance learning and productivity.
With the successful conclusion of the first edition, anticipation is already building for subsequent campus engagements under the Renewed Hope Conversations series, as stakeholders reaffirm commitment to sustained youth engagement and participatory governance.
