ABUJA – APC-PCC DG expresses confidence in Tinubu’s second-term bid, cites faith in Allah, administration’s achievements

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has expressed confidence that Nigerians will be convinced to re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the January 2027 presidential election.

Yari said the APC-PCC was determined to secure the support and confidence of Nigerians through sustained grassroots mobilisation, effective communication and public awareness of the achievements of the Tinubu administration.

The former Zamfara State governor gave the assurance while speaking with journalists in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, where he joined President Tinubu and other prominent Nigerians to perform the lesser Hajj (Umrah).

He maintained that the President’s faith in Allah, coupled with his administration’s performance and the determination of the APC campaign structures, would play significant roles in securing victory for the ruling party at the polls.

Yari’s remarks followed President Tinubu’s declaration during a media interaction in Saudi Arabia on Friday that he had enormous faith in God regarding his re-election bid.

The President had emphasised that the ultimate decision concerning leadership rested with Allah, expressing confidence that God’s will would prevail.

“I believe that Allah’s wish in His court must prevail. And there’s no other God but Allah.

“Allah is the only one who can define a human being, what he will be, and what he will become,” Tinubu said.

Reacting to the President’s position, Yari described his expression of faith as an important attribute of responsible leadership, noting that Tinubu had consistently acknowledged the supremacy of God in the affairs of individuals and the nation.

According to him, the President’s prayerful disposition, concern for Nigerians and confidence in divine guidance demonstrate his understanding that leadership is ultimately determined by God.

He said the President had not only prayed for the country but had also placed the fate of the forthcoming election in the hands of Allah, while encouraging party members and campaign officials to intensify their political engagements.

Yari stressed, however, that faith must be complemented by practical efforts, including taking the administration’s achievements to the people, engaging communities and convincing voters through constructive campaigns.

He expressed optimism that Nigerians would appreciate the government’s accomplishments when properly informed and would consequently support Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

“That’s what makes a leader, because when you ask him, he first prayed for the country, prayed for every Nigerian. He also said this election is an election that God has selected the person who will be a leader, and only Him can put a leader or otherwise.

“So, in total, I depend on Allah to do it for him as He did it for him in 2023.

“By that, Allah says we should welcome and work, and all the procedures we are undertaking to campaign, talk to people, convince them and show them what we have done and what we have achieved will, by God’s grace, convince the people to elect us,” Yari said.

The APC-PCC Director-General further expressed confidence in the capacity of the party’s campaign machinery to mobilise support across the country, insisting that the organisation would leave no stone unturned in its efforts to secure victory for the President.

He said the campaign would focus on reaching Nigerians at the grassroots, communicating the administration’s policies and achievements, and presenting the President’s second-term agenda to the electorate.

Yari maintained that the combination of the President’s leadership, the achievements recorded by his administration and the commitment of party stakeholders would strengthen the APC’s chances in the forthcoming election.

He urged party members and supporters to remain focused, united and committed to the task ahead, stressing that winning the confidence of Nigerians would require sustained engagement and effective mobilisation.

The APC-PCC chief expressed optimism that, with divine guidance and the collective efforts of party faithful, President Tinubu would secure another mandate from Nigerians in 2027.
