According to the Daily Post on Thursday, November 5, 2026, African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Dino Melaye accused President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of growing uneasy as the 2027 general election approaches.
Melaye made the claim while condemning an alleged attack on the ADC’s campaign convoy in Kebbi State. He said party members travelling from Abuja were fired upon by gunmen as they made their way from the airport to the campaign venue. Two vehicles were reportedly hit, but no one was injured.
The former Kogi West senator described the incident as an effort to intimidate the opposition, adding that it would not deter the ADC from pursuing its political goals. He said the party remained confident of winning the 2027 presidential election and claimed Nigerians had already decided to support it.
Addressing supporters, Melaye said the ADC would not give in to intimidation and credited divine intervention with protecting those in the convoy. He also argued that the alleged attack showed the APC was uncomfortable with the ADC’s expanding political activities.
The incident comes as parties prepare for the 2027 election, with the ADC stepping up its campaigns and mobilisation across the country.
