ABUJA-The Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory has signed an agreement with Mentality Change Consultancy Ltd. to sponsor 50 indigenous and indigent students under its scholarship programme.

The agreement, signed by the council chairman, Hon. Kasim Mohammed, is aimed at providing financial and educational support to deserving students from the area council and enabling them to pursue professional courses in various higher institutions.

The beneficiaries are expected to study courses including Medicine, Nursing, Law, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Mohamed Isah Hassan, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the council, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, saying the programme was an initiative of the Kasim Mohammed-led administration.

According to the statement, the scholarship scheme is designed to ease the financial burden on indigent students and give them the opportunity to pursue their academic aspirations without being hindered by lack of funds.

The agreement was signed by Mohammed alongside the Head of Administration and the council’s Legal Officer, while Mentality Change Consultancy Ltd. will be responsible for the implementation of the scholarship sponsorship programme.

The council said the initiative underscored the administration’s commitment to investing in education and creating opportunities for young people from Gwagwalada Area Council.
