The National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Dayo Israel, has marked his first 100 days in office following his re-election on March 28, 2026, with a series of initiatives aimed at expanding youth participation, leadership development and access to opportunities.

Since his re-election, Israel and the APC National Youth Wing have rolled out programmes and engagements targeted at equipping young Nigerians with leadership skills, strengthening political participation and connecting them with opportunities in governance and the wider economy.

Among the initiatives is An Evening With Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, an engagement designed to expose young people to the experience and perspectives of senior statesmen.

The Youth Wing also launched the SWIP App, while the Mustapha Abdullahi Energy Leadership Fellowship (MAELF) attracted more than 1,500 applications. Following a competitive selection process, 80 young leaders were chosen for a six-day leadership experience in Abuja.

The fellowship also featured the Mustapha Abdullahi Innovation Award, through which more than N17m was committed to supporting youth innovation.

In the area of civic engagement, the Youth Wing organised the Renewed Hope Conversation, which brought together more than 1,000 students in Abuja and over 1,500 students at the University of Uyo.

Israel’s team also intensified advocacy for voter registration and monitored APC primaries across the South-West region as part of efforts to promote greater youth participation in the democratic process.

Beyond Nigeria, the National Youth Wing has facilitated access to international leadership exchange programmes and other opportunities for young Nigerians.

Another major initiative is the Zacch Adedeji Taxation and Fiscal Policy Fellowship, designed for young people interested in public finance, fiscal policy and economic governance.

The National Youth Leader said the initiatives reflected the renewed mandate given to the Youth Wing and its commitment to moving beyond rhetoric to practical action.

The first 100 days, according to the Youth Wing, have therefore been defined by efforts to connect young Nigerians with leadership, government, civic participation and opportunities for personal and professional advancement.

As the next phase begins, the APC National Youth Wing says it remains focused on building on the momentum of its first 100 days and expanding the impact of its youth-focused programmes nationwide.
