A Legal Practitioner, Barrister Nnamdi Ahaaiwe has called on the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to address the increasing spate of land racketeering in the FCT.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Ahaaiwe noted that land racketeers were becoming a threat to land owners in the territory
He said property owners also risk losing their properties to the racketeers.
Narrating the ordeal of one of his clients, Nnabuike Ofodile alleged that some officials of the FCTA Land Department might be conniving with land grabbers to swindle his clients and have failed to obey the Minister’s directive in 2023 to allocate the land to his client.
Barr. Ahaaiwe therefore called on the minister to intervene and launch investigation into the matter and compel the FCTA Land Department to obey existing court order.
Also urging the Minister to stop all forms of illegalities in land administration in the FCT.
