As we celebrate Democracy Day, it is important to reflect on the sacrifices that gave birth to our democratic journey and our collective responsibility to preserve and strengthen its ideals.
Nigeria’s democracy has witnessed many twists and turns, with some who once undermined democratic institutions now attempting to rewrite history through an ironic blame game. The protection and consolidation of democracy require focus, sincerity, accountability, consistencu and an unwavering commitment to the rule of law.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; has always demonstrated leadership through policies and initiatives aimed at ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach ordinary Nigerians, particularly the downtrodden and the vulnerable. While challenges remain, his administration has consistently expressed its commitment to education, economic reforms, infrastructure development, social investment and the strengthening of democratic governance.
As citizens, Democracy Day should inspire RENEWED HOPE and active participation in nation-building. A thriving democracy depends not only on elected leaders but also on the involvement, vigilance, patriotism and constructive engagement of the people.
Let us all continue to play our part in building a stronger and greater Nigeria. We must not be found wanting in our collective responsibilities as patriotic citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Together, through unity, hard work, dedication and unwavering faith in our Nation, we can secure a brighter future for generations to come.
Happy Democracy Day to all Nigerians. May our democracy continue to grow stronger, delivering peace, justice, prosperity, and opportunities for every citizen.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. 🇳🇬
