……Highlights tax reforms, student loans, road projects as reasons for re-election
ABUJA – The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has urged Ekiti State residents to massively support President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections, declaring that the President deserves another term because of his administration’s reforms and development initiatives.
Yilwatda made the appeal on Thursday during the APC presidential campaign rally in Ado-Ekiti, where he joined Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the party’s National Working Committee, governors and other APC leaders to present the party’s candidates to the electorate.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman expressed satisfaction with the massive turnout at the rally, describing the enthusiastic reception as evidence of the party’s growing popularity and the people’s confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said the rally provided an opportunity to formally present President Tinubu and other APC candidates seeking elective positions, including those contesting seats in the National Assembly and Ekiti State House of Assembly.
Yilwatda described Tinubu as a performer and reformer whose policies were aimed at repositioning the economy, strengthening public institutions and creating opportunities for Nigerians.
Highlighting the administration’s tax reforms, the APC chairman said the new tax framework was designed to protect low-income earners and small businesses from excessive taxation, allowing them to retain more resources for personal and business growth.
He maintained that the reforms demonstrated the President’s determination to establish a fairer tax system that would not place disproportionate burdens on vulnerable Nigerians.
The APC national chairman also identified the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as one of the administration’s major achievements, noting that the initiative had expanded access to higher education by removing financial barriers confronting students.
According to him, eligible beneficiaries also receive a monthly upkeep allowance of N20,000 to ease their financial challenges while pursuing their education.
On infrastructure, Yilwatda cited ongoing and completed road projects in Ekiti State, particularly major connections between Ado-Ekiti and Akure, as evidence of the Federal Government’s commitment to improving transportation, boosting economic activities and accelerating development.
He said the Tinubu administration’s achievements went beyond policy announcements, stressing that its interventions were already translating into tangible benefits for Nigerians.
Urging the electorate to return Tinubu to the Presidential Villa in 2027, Yilwatda also appealed for the election of APC candidates at all levels to ensure effective collaboration between the executive and legislative arms of government.
He argued that having more APC representatives in the National Assembly and Ekiti State House of Assembly would strengthen the party’s ability to implement its programmes and sustain ongoing reforms.
The APC chairman further described the party as Nigeria’s dominant political platform, citing its extensive grassroots structures and nationwide presence as major strengths ahead of the 2027 elections.
He expressed confidence that the party would consolidate its political influence and secure victory across the country, urging members and supporters in Ekiti to remain united and intensify mobilisation ahead of the polls.
Yilwatda said the Renewed Hope Agenda remained focused on economic recovery, national development and shared prosperity, calling on Nigerians to renew their confidence in Tinubu’s leadership.
