ABUJA – The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has charged members of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council to intensify grassroots mobilisation and communicate the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general election.

Yilwatda gave the charge during the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, stressing the need for unity, effective coordination, strategic communication and sustained engagement with citizens to secure the president’s re-election.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman said the party must build its campaign around the administration’s achievements, acknowledge existing challenges and present a credible vision for Nigeria’s future.

He urged members of the council to clearly explain the administration’s economic reforms and investments in critical sectors, including roads, power, gas, railways, ports, agriculture and digital connectivity.

According to him, communicating the impact of these initiatives on employment, productivity, commerce and national development would be crucial to winning the confidence of Nigerians.

“Our responsibility is to explain what has been achieved, what is progressing and what remains to be done. We must demonstrate how these reforms and investments will translate into practical improvements in the lives of Nigerians,” he said.

Yilwatda emphasised that the campaign’s success would depend on the ability of party leaders to unite national and grassroots structures and ensure that the APC’s message reached every community across the country.

He specifically called for stronger collaboration among governors, legislators, state chapters, local government executives and ward members, noting that effective grassroots mobilisation remained essential to the party’s electoral success.

The APC chairman also stressed the need to give women, youths and persons with disabilities meaningful roles in the campaign, describing their participation as vital to building an inclusive political movement.

“Our women are indispensable to party organisation and community mobilisation. Our youths must be engaged as partners in shaping Nigeria’s future, while persons with disabilities must enjoy full, accessible and inclusive participation in our democratic process,” he stated.

He, however, cautioned party members against complacency, urging them to combine confidence with hard work, proper planning and a commitment to earning the support of voters.

“Confidence is not complacency. It is the determination to prepare thoroughly, work together and earn the trust of the people,” he said.

Yilwatda further charged the campaign council to address issues affecting Nigerians, including the rising cost of living, insecurity, unemployment, education, healthcare, agricultural productivity and access to economic opportunities.

He said the party must explain its policies and achievements while providing clear responses to citizens’ concerns and outlining areas where further efforts were required.

The APC chairman maintained that the party’s campaign should be issue-based and peaceful, while acknowledging the legitimate role of opposition parties in a democratic system.

“The APC will present its case with confidence, defend its record with facts and trust Nigerians to make their choice through a credible democratic process,” he said.

Yilwatda reaffirmed the commitment of the APC National Working Committee to working closely with the Presidential Campaign Council and other party organs to achieve their common objectives.

He urged members to remain united, disciplined and focused on the task ahead, insisting that the party must effectively communicate its vision and convince Nigerians to support Tinubu for another term.

“One mission, one responsibility: to work together, communicate effectively and earn the mandate of Nigerians for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he declared.
