President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, describing the victory as a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in Nigeria.
Tinubu, in a statement on Sunday, said he had earlier called Adeleke to congratulate him on his electoral victory, noting that the outcome confirmed the confidence reposed in the governor by the people of Osun State.
The President urged Adeleke to use his renewed mandate to unite the people of the state and mobilise them for growth, stability and social and economic progress, irrespective of their political affiliations or choices during the election.
The statement was signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Tinubu also commended the other candidates who contested the election, praising their courage and discipline and noting that their participation had contributed to deepening Nigeria’s democratic culture.
He said the outcome of the election reflected the will of the people of Osun State, adding that it offered further assurance that democracy would continue to thrive in the country.
The President further commended the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
He wished Adeleke success as he begins another four-year term in office and urged him to focus on advancing the interests and development of all residents of Osun State.
